Origami Antler Helmet

Made for Pacific Coast Origami Conference 2023 banquet event. We were encouraged to wear origami themed Halloween attribute. This is based on a traditional samurai helmet model, with strip graft along diagonal to extend the "horn" and to fold out some branches.

Origami Water Boatmen

Small bug you can find swimming on dirty pool. I frequently find them on natural body of water during summer hikes. They are obviously named after their oar-like legs, used for paddling.

Origami Halibut

The biggest kind of flat fish, which is a group of fishes whose eyes are located on one side of its body. They lie on the sea floor with "eyed side" on top, camouflaged among the sands, and look around to ambush prey.

Origami Coconut Crab v2.2

Change log from previous version : Wider abdoment Restructured head area for better proportion and simplicity Folded from single tissue, 50 cm. The model is still a straightforward boxpleating.

Origami Condor v1.2

Got an idea to improve the design while commuting. Change log from previous version : Extra row of feathers (coverts) Curved the secondary feathers' terminal edge Slots on primary feathers are now monotonically decreasing in size

Origami Swift Dragon

My submission for Origami Dan's April contest, whose theme was "dragon".

EBOC 2023

I had the pleasure to teach a class on East Bay Origami Convention (EBOC) 2023. It was a nice experience so I am sharing it here.

The Foolproof Way to Divide Paper Into N'ths

We all have been there... asking how to divide paper into 14ths or 15ths and occasionally got the answer of "just make 16 grid and cut it". Another scenario is being terrified with prime number division like 13ths or 17ths. In reality it's not that difficult. This post will share how to make such division just inside your head so you can start folding right away. I promise it won't require any arcane maths.
